Jacquie Joy MA Psy

My job is to address emotional issues at the preventative stage before they become a mental health crisis.

Jacquie is a license-eligible mental health clinician with a master’s degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She worked three years in Behavioral Medicine at Corwell Health, where among her duties she facilitated patient groups.

Prior to the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020, she volunteered for four years co-facilitating a women’s support group in the Berrien County jail.  She has been facilitating A Course In Miracles weekly study group since 2015 and leads bi-weekly on-line meditations.

Jacquie’s coaching career began in 1997 as an Employability Skills Instructor for Michigan Works! Career Center in Ferndale, MI. There she authored and delivered a five-day motivational and employability skills training. Her signature program D*A*N*C*E of Life Seminars weaves themes of building self-esteem, with both vocational and personality assessments. She achieved high employment placement and job retention rates with at-risk clients. This experience rooted a commitment to help individuals live purposefully, through vocational fulfillment.

“Let us use the gift of our lives to make this a better world.” — Jane Goodall

As a Mental Health Coach, Jacquie serves both individuals and businesses who offer coaching as a benefit to their employees. Jacquie is passionate about good mental hygiene and brain health. She keeps informed of trending mental health information and brain research. Her work is influenced by trauma expert Dr. Gabor Maté; relationship expert Dr. Pat Allen; Nutritional Biochemist Dr. Libby Weaver; and A Course In Miracles text to name a few. She has co-facilitated local workshops with Raelene Stickney, M.A., Counseling, Certified Laughter Leader with the World Laughter Tour; Empowerment Coach Princella Nunez Stringer; and Neurodiverse Coach Abigail Taylor.

Having a master’s degree is not a required credential to be a mental health coach. Jacquie’s education, professional experience, qualifications, skills, knowledge, and the integrity of her work exceed coaching industry standards.

You are receiving quality, professional, mental health care.

Jacquie and her husband returned to Southwest Michigan with their twin children in 2005. She has also lived and worked in Detroit, Canada and England, which lends a transnational perspective to her work. She enjoys playing and refereeing soccer, biking, kayaking, and travel.

Thank you for trusting me with your psychological care.
